The five commercial units have a refined aesthetic with their patinated copper effect cladding, harmonizing with the broader urban environment while also serving as a distinctive frame for the adjacent public-facing building. The technical design phase was focused on generating precise and executable detailing from the changes in materials across the external cladding to the drylining for fire compartmentation within the compartment walls.
The technical design phase also involved strategically positioning the building within the significant constraints of below-ground services and tree protection zones. This necessitated thorough site investigations supported by accurate coordinate mapping (set out points) of the "buildable zone."
